My Guess about Trees at Hemlock

Here's what I think happened. Both trunks shown on the ground can from Topped Off Tree #1. It literally split in half. The first half, lying to the right probably broke off first given the prevailing winds at the time of the storm. It probably ejected with enough force to cause Topped off Tree #2 to loose it top. The rebound and the first trunk coming off Topped Off Tree #1, probably snapped the other half, causing it to spin and land on the creek as it is now. Imagine how violent and amazing that storm was...
