My hero of the week is this guy:
Yeah - he's kinda hard to make out in that picture, and I have written about his daddy here before. Let's see, what can I tell you about him. Well, after leaving the farm, he joined the Navy and did a four year tour. He tried wildcatting for a while, then got drafted into the cold war and worked at moving atoms around in Tennessee. Then he moved to Memphis, raised four wild boys and a crazy girl to be mostly fine upstanding citizens. Along the way he somehow became an active private pilot, ham radio nut, inventor, and puppet master. He's a grandfather many times over, but not yet a great grandfather. Happy birthday Dad, you will always be my hero.
